What happens when we get something wrong.
Write to editor@globalfinancialinfo.info with the article URL and the specific sentence you believe is wrong. If a figure is disputed, include the primary source that contradicts ours. You do not need an account and you do not need to explain why you were reading.
Every report is reviewed by the editor within two business days. If the report is correct, we correct the article and add a dated note at the foot of the piece describing what changed. If the report is wrong, we reply explaining the sourcing behind the original figure.
We do not silently edit a published article. Substantive changes to a published piece are recorded in the correction note with the date and the reason. Typographical fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note.
If an error materially misstates a numeric figure, a policy decision or an institution's stated position, we correct it the same day and, if the piece was distributed by email or podcast, we note the correction in the next edition of that product.
Every correction is listed here with its date, the article, and a one-line description of what changed.
